ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting via video link today to decide the extension of lockdown imposed in the country.
According to details, the meeting is expected to take a final decision over lockdown across the country. All the four chief ministers and certain federal ministers will participate in the meeting.
The meeting will also be attended by federal ministers, high ranking military officials, and chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Chairman NDMA and Health Advisor will give a briefing on the current situation in the country. The National Coordinating Committee meeting will review the steps taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus while the meeting will decide whether to ease or tighten the lockdown.
Last month, the prime minister announced to lift the countrywide lockdown in phases by allowing all construction-related industries and shopping centers to reopen for five days a week.
Moreover, while chairing a meeting at National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), on Sunday, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar had said that the shopkeepers should strictly implement ‘no mask, no service’ policy.
Asad Umar had directed the NCOC to concentrate on the plan to ease the lockdown while strictly implementing the standard operating procedure (SOPs).
