A 4.8 magnitude earthquake jolts were felt in Islamabad, Faisalabad, and several other cities in Punjab, on Thursday evening.
Tremors were also felt in Bhalwal, Sargodha, Pind Dadan Khan, Shahpur, and other cities of Punjab province at around 4:38 pm.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has not issued the details yet. However, according to the Google’s earthquake aler,the 4.8 magnitude earthquake was reported in the Hindu Kush region at a depth of 160 kilometres.
It may be recall that a strong earthquake of 6.8 magnitude had jolted Islamabad and several parts of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening.
The tremors were felt in various cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Bannu, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Loralai, Jaranwala, Mailsi, Chichawatni, Minchinabad, Kohlu, Jahanian, Pakpattan, Shorkot, Dijkot, Shakargarh, Lodhran, Layyah, Kohat, Swabi, Kirk, Lakki Marwat, Para Chinar, DI Khan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Swat.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded at Hindukush region of Afghanistan, while the depth was 180km.
