Bollywood’s top-rated actor Shah Rukh Khan proved he is more than a stereotypical hero by portraying a hockey coach in ‘Chak De! India’. However, did you know SRK was never the first choice for the movie?
Yes, the sports drama movie was offered to another star before SRK’s portrayal as coach Kabir Khan in the movie. The actor was none other than Salman Khan.
Salman Khan, whose Radhe will hit screens next month, revealed during the release of Sultan movie that he was asked about the offer, “Chak De was offered to me but I left it because even Shah Rukh Khan should be a part of a few great films.” Though later, he revealed the real reason and said, “When I was offered Chak De, my image for totally different as I was doing Partner and all those kind of films.”
He added that he assumed it was a more serious kind of film and he was doing more of a commercial kind of cinema which he is still doing. “I would never move out of commercial cinema zone but it is just that there would be a lot of meaningful cinema in the commercial zone,” he explained.

Moreover, Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is scheduled to hit the screens on 13th May. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan is busy with the shooting of Sultan, which will hit the screens in 2022.
