Actress Sanam Jung, who is starring in a drama serial titled ‘Pyari Mona’, has revealed the reason behind refusing the role of playing an overweight girl.
Well, recently, Jung is playing a role of an overweight girl called Mona in a drama serial titled ‘Pyari Mona’. In a recent interview with BBC Urdu, Sanam Jung said, “It’s true that I had refused it initially and said yes to it after the gap of a year.”
According to Jung, she agreed to do it because she thought that she went through this same body shaming thing. She added, “I also thought that it was an important message to convey, after deciding I read and performed it with heart.”

Well, obviously, I refused it because of the people. I was thinking about people while doing it and what will they think, she shared. Earlier in an interview, she revealed how body shaming affected her a lot and said she had a lot of family support that got her through it.
For Jung, her journey has now brought her to a point where she can stand up against fatphobia in the drama serial ‘Pyari Mona’ has addresses body shaming. Sanam plays a plus-sized character in the show.
Jung has showcased her talent in popular dramas such as ‘Dil-e-Muztar’, ‘Mere Humdam Mere Dost’, ‘Alvida’ and ‘Mohabbat Subh Ka Sitara’.
