Actress Saba Qamar starrer ‘Kamli’ which is a Sarmad Khoosat directorial movie became one of the most earning movies of 2022 when it released last month.
A woman-centric movie collected over Rs5 crore at Pakistani box office which is a great number considering the post-covid scenario and also it was loved by the viewers.
However, recently, it has been revealed that Saba Qamar was not the first choice to play Hina in Kamli. She was offered the film later on.
It was Mahira Khan, who was the first choice of the makers of Kamli. The actress recently in an interview confirmed it while she was promoting her latest film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. She said that she was not able to do it but Saba Qamar shined in the movie and did the role perfectly.

Besides Saba Qamar, the feminocentric romantic thriller features Hamza Khawaja, Sania Saeed, Omair Rana, and Nimra Bucha in the leading roles. Kamli is the second film under the banner of Khoosat Films. Saba has previously worked in Sarmad’s film Manto in 2015 and the two were seen in the drama serial Baaghi in 2017.
On the work front, Saba Qamar will be returning to the small screen with an upcoming project ‘Tumhare Husn Ke Naam’. Her movie ‘Ghabrana Nahi Hai’ did well at the box office. Starring Qamar, Zahid Ahmed, Syed Jibran and Nayyer Ijaz in the lead role, the film is directed by Saqib Khan.
