Israel war on Gaza has taken an ugly turn leaving thousands dead, and millions homeless. Amid the ongoing war, several Hollywood stars and public figures have not only raised their voices against the violence but also donated money to help the victims.
Cinema for Gaza, a group launched by a host of film directors and stars including Susan Sarandon, Tilda Swinton, Paul Mescal, and Olivia Colman, has recently raised over $315,000 to support medical aid for the civilian population in Gaza.
Last week, it was reported that global pop icon Jennifer Lopez donated $4.5 million to provide meals and medical aid to Palestinians. The Zimbabwe Mail claimed that the famous singer and actor had made this generous donation to address the urgent needs of those affected by ongoing conflicts and hardships in the region.
According to the report, the donation will help supply nutritious meals to families and individuals facing food insecurity and support medical facilities struggling to provide adequate care due to resource constraints.
Lopez, as cited by the website, expressed her commitment to supporting global humanitarian efforts: “The situation in Palestine has deeply moved me, and I felt compelled to do what I can to help those in dire need. Providing food and medical aid is essential, and I hope this contribution will make a meaningful difference.”
However, there is no confirmation of this news from any reputable media outlets so far. Considering Lopez’s global superstar status, it is surprising that such a significant contribution has not been reported more widely.
