Danush and Nayantara find themselves in a heated dispute, with Danush taking the matter to the Madras High Court by filing a civil suit against Nayantara, her husband Vignesh Shivan, and their production company, Rowdy Pictures.
According to Indian media, Danush has filed a defamation notice for an amount of 10 crore rupees. This stems from the release of the trailer for Nayantara’s documentary, “Nayantara: Beyond the Fairytale,” which featured footage from the movie “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.”
The issue arose because the footage was used without seeking permission from Danush, who had produced the film in 2015. Nayantara addressed her fans in an open letter, explaining that she had requested an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from Danush for two years but did not receive the necessary approval.
“Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,” directed by her then-boyfriend and now husband, Vignesh Shivan, was a film close to Nayantara’s heart. She expressed her frustration that despite repeated attempts to secure an NOC, Danush and his team did not respond.
Ultimately, Nayantara stated that they decided to release the documentary without including the footage from “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.” However, Danush filed a defamation case against her because the trailer still contained over three seconds of footage from the film. Nayantara has declared her intention to face the case legally.
Danush’s counsel approached the Madras High Court for permission to sue Nayantara, which the court granted. As a result, Danush has proceeded with legal action against both Nayantara and Vignesh Shivan.
In her open letter, Nayantara suggested that Danush’s actions were motivated by a personal grudge against her and Vignesh. She claimed that his refusal to grant an NOC was rooted in this personal issue.
With both parties moving forward with the legal proceedings, the conflict has now reached the courts. The escalating war of words between these two prominent figures in the Kollywood industry continues to capture attention.
