Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will become the first Indian to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2026, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday.
The iconic Los Angeles landmark features 2,813 terrazzo and brass stars that line the sidewalks of 15 blocks of Hollywood.
The Walk of Fame is a finalist list of individuals who have made a lasting impact in one or more of five fields: film, television, live performance, music, and sports entertainment. The 2026 honorees were announced at a live event.
Along with Padukone, other notables on the list include Demi Moore, Emily Blunt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Molly Ringwald, and Noah Weil. Shaquille O’Neal will be honoured for his achievements in sports and broadcasting.

Outside of acting, Padukone is also a household name in the world of luxury brands. Deepika posted just one word on Instagram Stories to express her gratitude for the unique honour: “Thank you.”
In 2022, she became the first Indian “House Ambassador” for French luxury brand Louis Vuitton. She also represents global jewellery brand Cartier and has been on the cover of Time magazine twice. She has also been named one of Time’s 100 most influential people.
Deepika rose to fame in 2007 with the film “Om Shanti Om” opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and is the wife of actor Ranveer Singh.
