CTD Punjab claims arresting 10 suspected terrorists

LAHORE: The Counter Terror Department (CTD) Punjab claimed  to have arrested 10 suspected terrorists during raids in different districts.

According to details released by the CTD on Saturday, a major tragedy was averted when the security personnel apprehended ten suspected terrorists, including some linked to banned outfits such as Al Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The arrests were made during the course of intelligence-based operations conducted across four major districts of Punjab, including the provincial capital of Lahore, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur.

During the operations, officials said that they also recovered heavy weapons such as rockets, hand grenades, automatic weapons and even material to construct explosives-laden suicide jackets.

Officials said that the suspects were plotting terror attacks across the province.

Details provided to media by CTD are as follow:

1) Abdul Rehman s/o Muhammad Muneer of defunct organization TTP
2) Roid khan s/o Maif Ullah from TTP
3) Hanif Ullah Khan s/o Saif Ullah Khan from TTP
4) Ghulam Ullah s/o Noor Hassan from Al-Qaida/LeJ
5) Ahmad Hassan s/o Muhammad Ameen from Al-Qaida/LeJ
6) Jalil Ahmad @ Faryadi s/o Fateh Muhammad from TTP
7) Imdad Ullah s/o Faiz ud din from AQIS
8) Basit Ali s/o Kala khan from TTP
9) Junaid Ali s/o Zafar Ullah Khan from TTP
10) Muhamamd Ismail Khalil s/o Ghulam Mustafa from TTP

Accordingly, 07 FIRs were registered against the arrested persons:
1) FIR No.06/23 dated 28-01-2023 u/s 11-H, 11-I, 11-J, 11-N, 11-F (2), ATA/1997 PS CTD Gujranwala,
2) FIR No. 02/23 Dated 28.01.2023 u/s 302/324/353/34/PPC, 7-ATA/1997 13-2(a,b)/20/65-AO PS CTD Dera Ghazi Khan,
3) FIR No 3/23 dated 29.01.23 u/s 4/5 ESA 7 ATA 1997 PS CTD Bahawalpur,
4) FIR No. 03/23 dated 30.01.2023 u/s 11-W(2)/ ATA 1997 PS CTD DG Khan,
5) FIR No. 4/23, dated 31.01.23 u/s 11-f(2)/11-H/11-N/11-W/9 ATA, PS CTD Lahore,
6) FIR No. 07/23 dated 31.01.2023 u/s 4/5 ESA 1908 PS CTD Gujranwala,
7) FIR No. 03/23 dated 31.01.2023 u/s 11G(2)/7ATA, 4/5ESA 1908, 13(2a)20/65 AO PS CTD Multan.

 01 Flag of Banned Org.,

 03 Mobile Phone,
 Cash Rs. 44070/-.

CTD Officials said that during this week, 476 Combing operations were conducted with the help of Local Police/LEAs. During these Combing Operations, 25865 persons were checked, 91 suspects were arrested and 67 FIRs were registered, 49 recoveries were made.
