LAHORE: Counter-Terrorism Department has claimed to have arrested two alleged members of the banned outfit during an operation in Khanewal.
According to the CTD spokesperson, two members of the banned ISIS were arrested from Khanewal. The arrested suspects have been identified as Imran Haider and Riaz Ahmed.
A CTD spokesman said the CTD team also recovered grenades, weapons, and illicit literature from the suspects’ possession. The terrorists were planning to attack key installations and places of worship.
Earlier, on January 14, CTD and intelligence officials arrested Kashif Ali alias Shaheen, a wanted terrorist named in the Sindh Police record.
According to CTD officials, the suspected terrorist was arrested from the Lions area of Karachi where he was hiding in a house.
CTD said that the accused remained in hiding in different cities of the country and before reaching Karachi he remained in hiding in Rawalpindi for a long time.
It is to be noted that after the terrorist attacks in Balochistan, in view of the fears of attacks in other cities of the country also, the forces have intensified their operations against the terrorists of banned organizations.
