LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has urged the citizens to continue following precautions to counter novel coronavirus, which has affected 8,420 people in Punjab.
The chief minister appealed the people to stay in their homes to protect themselves and their families from coronavirus. He maintained that the citizens should not go out until it is necessary.
Usman Buzdar stressed that the government can only control the pandemic through cooperation by the people. He advised all to maintain social distancing and to not unnecessarily visit outside.
Last week, Usman Buzdar had announced to reimburse the salary of health workers that was deducted earlier as part of a donation. He took notice of the health workers’ salary cut in Punjab and directed the authorities to reimburse their two-day salary, which was earlier deducted as part of a donation for the PM’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.
He clarified that the health workers’ salary will not be deducted. Moreover, a special allowance will be given to them. He also announced that the government will provide the doctors and paramedical staff a two months’ salaries for this month, as they are on the front lines against the coronavirus fight.
