PARIS: The total number of COVID-19 cases in the world have surged past 1.3 million today as the world continues to tackle the virus.
The total number of fatalities in the world from the virus has surged to 75,000. However, at least 250,000 patients are now considered recovered.
The United States has the highest official number of infected people with 367,004 diagnosed cases, 10,871 deaths, and 19,671 recoveries.
Italy has 16,523 fatalities with 132,547 infections and 22,837 people recovered. Spain has recorded 13,341 fatalities and 136,675 infections.
China has to date declared 3,331 deaths and 81,740 cases, with 76,755 recoveries. France has reported 8,911 deaths and 98,010 cases.
Meanwhile, the death toll is 3,739 in Iran as the confirmed number of cases is almost 60,500. COVID-19 has affected 10,075 people in Africa with more than 487 deaths.
The Africa CDC revealed that 913 people who have been infected with the COVID-19 have recovered across the continent. The confirmed COVID-19 cases were spread across 52 African countries.
