Pakistan’s biggest bridal couture week which took place in Lahore last weekend marked the return of multi-designer shows in the country.
While designers like Ali Xeeshan were praised for using fashion as a platform to highlight uncomfortable topics of Pakistan like child marriage, there were designers such as Haris Shakeel who grabbed the center of attention for stealing designs from others.
It all began when designer Haris Shakeel presented his beautiful collection “Ghazal” during Bridal Couture Week, Farah Talib Aziz, another well-known designer him for stealing her designs.
According to Farah Talib Aziz’s daughter, the dress design presented by model Sunita Marshall during the fashion show is a clear imitation of her design. She asked a few questions to designer Haris Shakeel whose screenshots went viral on social media.
The management criticised designer Haris Shakeel, “If you call yourself a designer, why don’t you create your own designs instead of copying them?” Don’t you feel embarrassed when you order clothes designed by Farah Talib Aziz online and sell these designs as your own? the management added.
As per Farah Talib Aziz’s team, designer Haris Shakeel copied his two-year-old designs and presented them at Bridal Cutie Week recently, and this is not the first time, but according to the management, this is the tenth time that Haris Shakeel has stolen their designs.

Farah Talib Aziz’s daughter and brand manager Maleeha Aziz wrote on Instagram, “Our work is very much copied but usually we don’t make a fuss because well-known designers often steal the work of small brands. This is what makes us angry.”
“However, Haris Shakeel has copied our work not once but many times. Maybe this time they have presented our designs on the catwalk as their own, but for some time now, pictures of copies of our designs have been appearing on their social media,” Maleeha Aziz maintained.
