LAHORE: An accountability court has started the proceedings to declare Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter a proclaimed offender in a money laundering case.
Following the court order, the investigation officer of the case put up proclamations of the PML-N leader’ daughter named Rabia Imran outside her residence and the accountability court.
Accountability Judge Jawadul Hassan repeatedly issued summons directing her to turn up in court but she did not. A non-bailable arrest warrant has been also issued for her.
The court observed that the accused had fled abroad, due to which warrants could not be served on her. In August, the NAB filed Rs.7 billion money laundering and assets beyond means reference against the Shehbaz family, including his wife Nusrat Shehbaz, sons Hamza Shehbaz and Suleman Shehbaz, and two daughters, Rabia Imran and Javeria Ali. The NAB had arrested Shehbaz Sharif in the case on 28th September.

The NAB earlier accused the leader of Shehbaz Sharif of not cooperating in the investigation. A money laundering case investigation report from Shehbaz Sharif came to light in which he has been accused by NAB of non-cooperation in the investigation. The NAB report said that Shehbaz Sharif was asked about four properties bought abroad but he did not answer.
