ISLAMABAD: All motorways have been closed for commercial passenger vehicles in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus across the country.
According to the Motorway Police spokesperson, only private vehicles with a maximum of two people would be allowed to use the motorways. On the other hand, all commercial passenger vehicles have been banned.
However, vehicles carrying oil and other essential items can use the motorways, the spokesperson said. The number of total coronavirus cases has risen to 1,102 in the country.
Another patient has died due to the coronavirus in the federal capital, bringing the total death toll to nine. The incident took place in Islamabad’s Sector G13, where the coronavirus had claimed another man. The coronavirus infected patient also used precautionary measures against the virus, but could not respond.
The deceased had quarantined himself at home so that no one else’s life could be endangered by the disease.Â
