Coronavirus death toll hits 969,800 worldwide

WASHINGTON: The coronavirus has killed 969,811 people worldwide and infected 31,507,685.

Around the world, 23,134,712 people infected with the coronavirus have recovered and the number of active cases has come down to 7,403,162.

The United States ranks first among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 24,506 deaths and more than 7,046,000 people diagnosed with the coronavirus.

India ranks second in the world in terms of coronavirus cases where the total number of coronavirus cases has increased from 5.562 million. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in India has risen to 88,965.

Brazil is the third most affected country by a coronavirus, with 4.56 million people infected and 137,350 deaths.

Russia ranks fourth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with more than 1.19 million people infected with the coronavirus and a total of 19,489 deaths.

In Peru, more than 772,000 people have been affected, while 31,474 people have lost their lives. Colombia is the fifth most affected country by the coronavirus, with 24,397 deaths and more than 770,000 reported cases.

The death toll from the coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 15,992, with more than 661,000 people affected. More than 700,000 people have been affected in Mexico and 73,697 have died.
