WASHINGTON: The global pandemic coronavirus has killed 791,012 people worldwide and affected 22,581,537, while more than 15,302,703 patients have been cured.
The United States ranks first among the countries affected by the epidemic, with 57,931 people affected and 176,337 killed. Brazil is the second most affected country by the epidemic, with more than 3,460,000 people affected and 111,189 killed.
The number of coronavirus patients in India has risen to more than 2.835 million and the total number of deaths has risen to 53,994. In Russia, 937,321 people have been infected with the coronavirus and 15,989 have lost their lives.
The death toll from coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 12,413, with more than 596,000 people affected. In Mexico, 537,031 people were affected and 57,481 died. The first 5 million cases of coronavirus in the world were reported in 185 days while the last 5 million cases came to light in just 18 days.
The first case of coronavirus was reported on November 17, 2019, and on March 6, the number of cases worldwide exceeded one million.
The number of coronavirus cases worldwide reached 5 million on May 20, and more than 10 million on 27th June. On 22nd July, the total number of cases reached 15 million. The total number of cases worldwide on August 9 was more than 20 million.
So far, more than 14.5 million patients worldwide have been able to defeat coronavirus. The number of active cases worldwide is currently 6.49 million.
