WASHINGTON: The global epidemic of coronavirus has infected 50,263,740 people in the world and 1,256,352 people have lost their lives.

The number of coronavirus cases across the world has surged to 50,263,740. While the pandemic has so far claimed more than 1,256,352 people live across the globe. As many as 35,549,694 patients have been cured and at present, the number of active cases is 13,457,694.

The United States and India are the most affected by the virus in the world. The number of people infected with coronavirus in the United States has risen 10,182,818 with 243,257 deaths.

India ranks second among the countries affected by the coronavirus, with more than 8,507,754 people affected and a total death toll of 126,162. Brazil is the third most affected country by the coronavirus with more than 5,653,561 patients and 162,286 deaths.

Russia is the fourth most affected country by the coronavirus, with more than 1,753,836 people infected and 30,251 deaths. France ranks fifth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 40,169 deaths and more than 1,748,705 reported cases

Spain’s position remains sixth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 38,833 deaths and more than 1,388,411 reported cases.

In Peru, more than 920,010 people have been affected and 34,840 have lost their lives. The death toll from coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 19,789 with more than 735,906 people affected. More than 961,938 people have been affected in Mexico, while the country reported 94,808 deaths.

Colombia has recorded 32,595 fatalities and 1,136,447 infections. In Chile, nearly 519,977 cases were confirmed, including more than 14,499 deaths.

Italy, which recorded its first coronavirus death at the end of February, has 41,063 fatalities, while 902,490 infections. Saudi Arabia has reported 19,789 deaths and 735,906 cases.

Meanwhile, the death toll stands 37,832 in Iran as the confirmed number of cases is almost
673,250. Germany has reported 11,435 deaths and 658,481 infections.

Turkey reported 391,739 coronavirus cases and 10,803 fatalities. China has to date declared 4,634 deaths and 86,212 cases, with 81,168 recoveries and 410 active cases of the virus.
