ISLAMABAD: At least 979 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 27 more people have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), coronavirus has infected 957,371 people across the country, while the virus has killed 22,281 people.
During the last 24 hours, around 42,062 tests were conducted for the diagnosis of coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 145,444,085. At least 1,499 patients beat the virus, bringing the total number of healthy people to 93,484. The number of active cases of the virus in the country is 31,606.

In Punjab province, 346,180 people were affected by the virus, 337,052 in Sindh, 137,951 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 27,145 in Balochistan, and 82,652 in Islamabad. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 6,098 people were affected by corona, while in Azad Kashmir, 20,293 cases were reported.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4,316 people died due to corona, 308 in Balochistan, 777 in Islamabad, 111 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 582 in Azad Kashmir. It may be recalled that earlier the NCOC had announced new restrictions in the country to prevent corona, the participation in marriages was also made conditional on the corona vaccine.
