Coronavirus claims 10 more lives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has claimed 10 lives in Pakistan, bringing the total number to 6,219.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 586 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 287,379.

So far, 273,579 cases of coronavirus patients have recovered in Pakistan, while the number of active cases in the country has come down to 10,626.

The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 127,381, 95,958 in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,545, Islamabad 15,453, Balochistan 12,424, Azad Kashmir 2,223 and in Gilgit the number of corona cases is 2,604.

The coronavirus has caused 2,186 deaths in Punjab and 2,343 in Sindh. The death toll from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,242, Islamabad 175, Balochistan 139, Gilgit-Baltistan 63, and Azad Kashmir 61.

Yesterday, 25,537 tests of coronavirus were conducted across the country. The number of coronavirus ventilators in hospitals is 1,920. There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals across the country and currently, 1,241 patients are admitted to the hospitals.

Coronavirus testing capacity in the country has exceeded 60,000 per day and 132 testing laboratories are working.  According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly declining, but the threat of corona has not yet been averted.
