PESHAWAR: The number of coronavirus cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa jumped to 16 on Wednesday, the nationwide tally of COVID-19 cases has risen to 245 after new patients were reported from Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Taimur Jhagra, in his tweet, said: “The minister said with an increase of a new case in the KP, the number stands at 16 in the province”.

He further said the new patient hailing from Abottabad returned from the United Kingdom. It may be noted that the number of coronavirus cases increased up to 245 in Pakistan. Sindh: 172, Punjab: 34, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 16, Balochistan: 16, Islamabad Capital Territory: four, Gilgit-Baltistan: three.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday that over 11,500 people have infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) globally bringing the total number of confirmed cases above 179,000.
According to the WHO daily report on COVID-19), 179,112 cases have been reported globally, with 11,526 new ones over the past 24 hours, adding that the global death toll has jumped by 475 to 7,426.
The report further indicated that eight new countries, or regions including, Region of the Americas-3, African Region-3, Eastern Mediterranean Region-1, and Western Pacific Region-one have reported cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours.
