ISLAMABAD: A contempt of court case against former judge Rana Shamim, journalist Ansar Abbasi, and others have been heard.
On this occasion, the court gave a deadline to former judge Rana Shamim to submit the affidavit and said that if he did not submit the affidavit, he would be charged.
Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Attorney General Khalid Javed, and Advocate General Islamabad, Ansar Abbasi, and Shamim appeared in today’s hearing. On this occasion, the Chief Justice asked Rana Shamim if he had submitted the answer. To which he replied that my lawyer coming to the court would submit it.
During the hearing, Latif Afridi, counsel for former Chief Justice Ranashamim, reached the courtroom. During the hearing, the Chief Justice in a conversation with lawyer Latif Afridi said that the present Chief Justice spoke on the phone with the Chief Justice of NGB and two present service judges also met and this matter came out after three years, it was said that the accused should not come out before the election.
On which lawyer Latif Afridi said that this is not the first time that charges have been leveled against deceiving. The Chief Justice remarked that you should look into this case as a judicial assistant, your client has raised his finger on this court after three years.
