ISLAMABAD: National athletes participating in Commonwealth Games and Islamic Solidarity Games in Turkey are returning home. Commonwealth Games medalist Inam Butt also returned home.
According to the details, Inam Butt, who won the silver medal during the Commonwealth Games in the British city of Birmingham, Inayatullah, the bronze medalist, and Shajar Abbas, the apprentice, returned home. The people gave a grand welcome to their players.
Pakistan Sports Board Chairman Asif Zaman and other officials welcomed the players at Islamabad Airport. On this occasion, the people showered flower petals on all the players on their return home.
Pakistan Zindabad and other enthusiastic slogans were raised at Islamabad Airport. It should be noted that Arshad Nadeem, who won gold medals in Commonwealth Games and Islam Solidarity Games, will also return home today.
Commonwealth Games gold medalist Nooh Butt will be seen in action during the Islamic Solidarity Games today. Besides the Pakistan Sports Board, the Punjab government and Javed Afridi have announced prize money for winning the Commonwealth Games.
It should be noted that earlier Pakistan’s Bisma Khan and Jahanara Nabi qualified for the 100m freestyle final in the Islamic Solidarity Games swimming competition.
Two days ago today, in the 100m freestyle semi-final, Pakistan’s Jahanera Nabi finished seventh with a timing of 1 minute, 2.1 seconds.
