COAS Gen Qamar Javaid Bajwa visited Armored Corps Center today

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, visited Armoured Corps Centre Nowshera. Lieutenant General Sarfraz Sattar was installed as Colonel Commandant Armored Corps.

Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Sattar has earlier served as military intelligence chief, commanded an Infantry Division in Sialkot and was a military attaché in India. Currently, he holds the position of Director General Strategic Planning and Division; a post held by CJCSC General Zubair Mahmood Hayat. 

The outgoing Colonel Commandant Lieutenant General (ret) Naveed Mukhtar, a large number of serving and retired officers, soldiers and families of shaheeds attended the event.

Lt.Gen Naveed Mukhtar served as the Director-General of the country’s premier Intelligence Agency, ISI for a full term of three years. The General took charge of the agency in December 2016.

COAS appreciated the performance of Armoured Corps both in conventional and non-conventional warfare.

Earlier upon arrival, COAS laid floral wreath on Shuhada’s monument.
