LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced to introduce a proper environmental policy.
In a tweet, Usman Buzdar while criticising the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) over the climate issues wrote, ” Previous government not only ignored the environmental challenges but also contributed to making it worse.”

Buzdar further wrote, “We will establish ‘environmental sustainability fund’, introduce a proper environmental policy and revise air quality indicators to international standards. #CleanGreenPunjab.”
In this regard, the chief minister Punjab held the 4th meeting of Environment Protection Council, in which the decisions experts would revise existing Air Quality Standards were taken. The initiation of the Punjab environment report was also reviewed.
The formulation of Punjab climate change policy was also considered and the establishment of Punjab environment sustainability fund was also included in the decision during the meeting.
Buzdar in the previous month, inaugurated 13 development programs in Taunsa Sharif. While speaking in a ceremony, he said that in the previous period, the funds of southern Punjab were spent on other projects.
He assured that he would bring prosperity for the undeveloped areas of the province. He also laid the foundation stone of the Government Technical Training Institute in Taunsa.
