Usman Buzdar expresses grief over demise of CM Sindh’s brother-in-law

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has expressed grief over the demise of Chief Minister Sindh’s brother-in-law who died from COVID-19 disease.
While extending condolences to the deceased’s family, Usman Buzdar prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant fortitude and patience to the family.
CM Sindh’s brother-in-law Syed Mehdi Shah, passed away last night in Karachi after suffering from the coronavirus. He was under treatment at a local hospital for the past three weeks.
The deceased had contracted the virus soon after returning from Iraq. He was a public servant and was currently posted as Managing Director in the SITE area of Karachi.
Moreover, Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, in separate messages had condoled the death of CM’s brother-in-law.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Punjab confirmed that the total COVID-19 cases in Punjab are 2,279. He informed that 701 patients are in Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Faisalabad quarantine centers, while, 696 are Tableeghi Jamaats’ members, 70 are jail prisoners and 803 were locally transmitted.
According to the chief minister, 18 people have lost their lives in Punjab, while 39 patients recovered from the deadly virus.
