A close relative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was killed in a firing incident in the Kolachi tehsil area of Dera Ismail Khan.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen targeted Saqlain Gandapur, who was the son of the chief minister’s uncle, Sardar Ismail Khan Gandapur. His body has been shifted to a hospital, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Saqlain was also the brother of Sardar Faridun Khan Gandapur, a former provincial assembly candidate.
KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep sorrow over the targeted killing, describing the incident as a grave tragedy.
Earlier, Chief Minister Gandapur had emphasized the importance of establishing peace in the region, particularly in the Kurram district, and had directed authorities to demolish tribal check posts and confiscate weapons from rival groups.
