A clash erupted on Sunday between supporters of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and an independent candidate during Local Government (LG) by-polls in Union Council (UC) 119 in Hyderabad, resulting in the ransacking of a polling station and damage to election materials.
According to reports, the incident of misconduct occurred at a women’s polling station when supporters of the PPP and the independent candidate came to blows. The clash between the two groups also caused damage to the election material.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, a tense situation was witnessed during the by-polls in UC 11 in Bahar Colony, Lyari. The workers of different political parties took an aggressive position against each other at a polling station set up in UC 11 at Government Girls School, Lyari.
The clash in Karachi started over the matter of sending the polling agent out of the polling station. The police immediately rushed to the scene and ended the row.
