ISLAMABAD: Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has lauded National Command and Control Centre’s role in containing the coronavirus in Pakistan.
Chinese envoy in a video message said, “Commanding system of National Command and Control Centre is contributing greatly for the prevention and control of this terrible virus.”
The statement came after attending the inauguration ceremony of the Isolation Hospital and Infections Treatment Centre in Islamabad. “I am proud to participate in the inaugural ceremony of the hospital,” he added.
On the occasion, the Chinese ambassador said, “It was a miracle that the government of Pakistan built this hospital in a very short period.”
He further said that he has witnessed a very resilient fight against coronavirus under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “I firmly believe that with the efforts of the Pakistani government and the Pakistani people finally, you will come out of this virus very soon,” he added.
Earlier today (Thursday), Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Isolation Hospital and Infections Treatment Centre in Islamabad. NDMA Chairman Lt General Muhammad Afzal briefed the prime minister about the isolation hospital.
Spread over 40-Kanal land, the 250-bed state of the art medical facility has been constructed in record forty days at a cost of about Rs980 million and will help ease the burden on health facilities in the federal capital.
The facility is fully equipped to combat COVID-19 pandemic providing all modern facilities including five Intensive Care Units, ventilators, nurse calling system as well as maiden E-ICU facility to allow doctors from abroad to treat the patients through telemedicine.
