LAHORE: Hasan Ali Bhola, a promising young wrestler from Pakistan, clinched a gold medal at the ongoing Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk, Russia.
Yakutia, the largest territory of the Russian Federation, is hosting these games, which first began in Yakutsk in 1996. The event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Olympic movement, promoting ideals like friendship, mutual respect, and personal growth.
Bhola, the sole Pakistani wrestler in the competition, demonstrated remarkable skill throughout. He defeated competitors from Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Azerbaijan on his way to the final. In a decisive championship match, Bhola triumphed over two Kyrgyz wrestlers with a score of 8–2.
The Pakistan Wrestling Federation celebrated Bhola’s victory with enthusiasm. President Abdul Mubeen and Senior Vice President Arshad Sattar, who also heads the Punjab Wrestling Association, extended heartfelt congratulations to Bhola and his coach, Ghulam Fareed.
