KARACHI: Roshan Bibi, the courageous mother who sustained six bullet wounds while protecting her family during the Chilas bus attack, has been transferred to Karachi for enhanced medical treatment.
On Friday night, she was moved from Islamabad to a private hospital in Karachi to receive specialized medical attention. Roshan Bibi exhibited remarkable bravery by shielding her children when unidentified gunmen indiscriminately fired upon a bus in Chilas.
Among the six bullets she endured, four struck her spinal cord, while the remaining two lodged in her liver and stomach. The bus attack resulted in the tragic loss of at least 10 lives, including two soldiers, with 21 passengers sustaining injuries. The assailants opened fire from nearby hills, causing the bus to collide with a goods truck.
According to GB Minister of Interior Shams Lone, the bus driver, in a state of panic following the gunfire, accelerated the vehicle’s speed, leading to the collision with the truck.
In response to the incident, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed to examine the “terrorist” attack on the passenger bus in Chilas. Superintendent of Police (SP) Sher Khan will lead the committee. To aid in the investigation, the police and security forces have apprehended approximately one and a half dozen suspects, who are currently undergoing interrogation by the JIT.
