LAHORE: Following the decline in demand after Eidul Adha, chicken prices in Lahore and other markets across the province have significantly dropped, bringing the retail price to Rs394 per kilogram as of Monday.
Poultry sector experts report that chicken meat prices have fallen by Rs400 per kilogram over the past eight weeks.
In Lahore, the chicken price was set at Rs394 per kilogram after a reduction of Rs24 per kilogram on Monday, following a Rs44 per kilogram decrease on Sunday.
Similarly, in Rawalpindi and other cities, chicken meat prices dropped to Rs394 per kilogram on June 24. On June 23, the price had been set at Rs418 per kilogram in Lahore and other cities in Punjab.
Moreover, the price of eggs has been fixed at Rs250 per dozen.
