ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced a 35 to 40 percent increase in toll taxes for various vehicle categories, effective from July 1, 2024.
This increase applies to national highways including the M-1 (Islamabad–Peshawar Motorway), M-3 (Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway), M-4 (Faisalabad-Multan Motorway), M-5 (Sukkur-Multan Motorway), M-15 (Hazara Motorway), and the Havelian-Mansehra Expressway.
The new toll rates for national highways are as follows: cars will pay Rs40 (up from Rs30), wagons Rs70 (up from Rs50), buses Rs130 (up from Rs100), 2 to 3 axle trucks Rs150 (up from Rs120), and large trucks Rs350 (up from Rs250).
On the M-1 Motorway, the toll for cars has increased to Rs360 (from Rs240), for wagons to Rs550 (from Rs400), for 13 to 14 seat coasters to Rs700 (from Rs550), for buses to Rs1,000 (from Rs700), for 2 to 3 axle trucks to Rs1,300 (from Rs1,040), and for large trucks to Rs1,500 (from Rs1,270).
For the M-3 (Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway), car tolls have risen to Rs500 (from Rs350), wagons to Rs750 (from Rs570), 13 to 24 seat buses to Rs1,150 (from Rs850), buses to Rs1,500 (from Rs1,200), 2 to 3 axle trucks to Rs2,100 (from Rs1,500), and large trucks to Rs2,500 (from Rs1,910).
On the M-5 (Multan to Sukkur Motorway), cars will now pay Rs900 (up from Rs680), wagons Rs1,300 (up from Rs980), 13 to 24 seat coaches Rs1,900 (up from Rs1,450), buses Rs2,600 (up from Rs2,060), 2 to 3 axle trucks Rs3,500 (up from Rs2,670), and large trucks Rs4,500 (up from Rs3,290).
Moreover, on the E-35 Hassanabdal-Havelian-Mansehra Expressway, the toll for cars has been increased to Rs180 (from Rs130), wagons to Rs280 (from Rs210), 13 to 24 seat coaches to Rs400 (from Rs300), buses to Rs560 (from Rs430), 2 to 3 axle trucks to Rs750 (from Rs560), and large trailers to Rs900 (from Rs680).
