KARACHI: Chaos ensued in Karachi’s accountability court when the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) prosecutors presented a witness who had the novel coronavirus.
According to details, the dramatic situation occurred during the hearing of illegal plots allotment corruption reference against Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal.
The prosecution team presented a witness before the court for a statement who was already suffering from coronavirus. When the court learned that the witness was a coronavirus patient panic broke out.
The judge ordered the accountability watchdog to remove the man from the courtroom immediately. Later, the court summoned more witnesses against Mustafa Kamal and others on December 23.
Earlier in November, a COVID-19 positive lawyer deliberately appeared before the court of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed. “Though I had been tested positive for COVID-19, but still appearing before the court”, he revealed.
The revelation from the lawyer had created panic in the courtroom. CJP Gulzar Ahmed asked the lawyer why he has appeared before the court and risking other lives.
