LAHORE: Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan NI (M) has provided a plane to the PIA to bring stranded Pakistanis back home due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
On request of CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik, the C-130 plane was handed over to the PIA to bring back stranded passengers following the pilots’ refusal to fly planes abroad due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The pilots flying from Karachi to Islamabad will be part of the PIA’s relief operations. The C-130 plane was supposed to carry 13 pilots to Islamabad from Karachi on Tuesday night, however, due to the boycott of the pilots, the flight was delayed.
Speaking on the occasion CEO PIA thanked the Air Chief, Officers and staff of the Pakistan Air Force for always stepping forward in the time of need as these pilots were critical for resuming flights for affected countrymen.
He also reiterated to the nation that as long as such dedicated volunteers are there, PIA will never desert the people of Pakistan and will do everything within our grasp to serve the nation.
