Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reports 27 new COVID-19 cases

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 27 new coronavirus cases, which has claimed 55 lives in the country.
According to the provincial health department, the total number of deaths by the coronavirus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 18. Peshawar has reported 7 new cases of coronavirus, 1 case in Bannu while the number of cases in Abbottabad stood at 2, Swat 1, Charsadda 2, Shangla 2, Orakzai 3, Bajaur 02 and 3 cases were reported in Dir.
The KP government last month turned 231 schools into quarantine centers in the province to treat COVID-19 patients. As many as 133 boys schools along with 98 girls schools have been transformed into quarantine centers in Peshawar, while 28 schools have been reserved for isolation facilities in Charsaddah.
In Swabi 25 girls schools have also been made quarantine centers, Lower Dir saw 31 boys schools being turned and Mohmand agency administration announced  15 girls schools as quarantine centers.
A total of 4,062 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country. According to data, 2,030 coronavirus cases were registered in Punjab, 986 in Sindh, 527 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 206 in Balochistan, 212 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 83 in Islamabad and 28 in Azad Kashmir.
As many as 55 people have died of COVID-19 since its outbreak in the country, which includes 18 in Sindh, 15 in Punjab, 18 in KP, Balochistan 01, and 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, 429 people have recovered.
