ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-origin British boxer Amir Khan has called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
During the meeting, issues related to the promotion of sports and social welfare in the country were discussed. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
It may be recalled that Amir Khan, an Internationally famed boxer, had recently visited Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. In a video message after visiting the Kartarpur corridor, the boxer said that attending Gurdwara Darbar Sahib was a pleasant experience.
He said that he was grateful for the excellent hospitality in Kartarpur. According to Khan, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib is a true metaphor for interfaith harmony. “Pakistan has given real religious freedom to all minorities,” he maintained.

Khan said that India, unlike Pakistan, was taking steps against minorities. “Be it Indian Occupied Kashmir, be it the Babri Masjid or the Sikh community, India is taking steps against minorities every day,” he further said. He said that the Indian government should open the gate of the Kartarpur corridor for Sikhs and allow its citizens to come to Kartarpur.
