Five bogies of the Jaffar Express derailed after a powerful bomb blast blew up the railway track in Jacobabad on Wednesday.
As per media reports, Jaffar Express was en route to Quetta from Peshawar when it met with the tragedy; however, no loss of life was reported.
Soon after the incident, local police, railway police, and senior officials of the railway maintenance department quickly arrived at the scene to investigate the incident and initiate rehabilitation work.
Latest updates show that a bomb blast has taken place on the railway track near Jacobabad, Pakistan Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) Shahid Abbas said. He informed the media that five coaches of a passenger train derailed as a result of the blast.
The track has also been damaged as a result of the blast, Shahid Abbas added.
So far, no casualties have been reported in the accident. A rescue crane has been dispatched from Rohri to the scene, while teams from the Railway Divisional Office Sukkur have also been dispatched to the scene, Shahid Abbas said.
