ISLAMABAD: The body of a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official was found on Tuesday in Islamabad, hanging from a tree in questionable circumstances.
According to police, the deceased served as an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) at the FIA, the body was hanging in a green area of Sector G-9/2 with a rope on a tree, within the limits of Margalla police station.

Rescue authorities arrived at the scene after being informed and shifted the body for medico-legal formalities to the hospital. In the meantime, police have registered a case and started inquiries into the incident.
Earlier on Tuesday, A man was killed and two police officers suffered gunshot injuries during an encounter in Islamabad.
The incident occurred when a police team, operating on a tip-off, carried out a search to apprehend an absconder at a house located in the Nilor police station.
