NEW DELHI: Reports circulating across multiple Indian media outlets suggest that the Pakistan men’s cricket team might not be granted visas for its travel to India for the ODI World Cup in 2023. Similarly, the chances of the Indian men’s cricket team’s travel to Pakistan for next year’s Asia Cup are also “as good as over.”
It may be recalled that Bilawal, who was in New York to participate in the UN meetings, had said, “(I want to tell India) that Osama bin Laden is dead, but the butcher of Gujarat lives and he is the Prime Minister of India.” He went on to say that PM Modi was banned from entering this country until he became the Prime Minister. “This is the Prime Minister of the RSS and the Foreign Minister of the RSS. What is the RSS? The RSS takes inspiration from Hitler’s ‘SS’,” he said.

Indian media reports suggest the latest development came on the back of the Indian government’s refusal to grant visas to Pakistan’s cricket team for the Blind T20 World Cup. The title-winning Indian team was felicitated by Union Sports minister Anurag Thakur the other day.
Reports also suggest that “the final call (about visa for Pakistani team) has to be taken by the government. After Bilawal’s comments, “how could you expect our team to travel to Pakistan, or their team to come to India for the World Cup?” the report quoted sources at the Indian government as asking.
It is pertinent to mention here that clearances are required from three ministries for the issuance of visas to a visiting foreign team, or for the Indian team’s travel abroad – the sports ministry and ministries of external affairs (MEA), and Home Ministry (MHA).
