New Ghousia Nihari
New Ghousia Nihari in DHA is a classic nihari joint of Karachi. If there is one place to have nihari in the city, then you must go to this restaurant.
“We have been cooking delicious nihari since 1976. My father started this restaurant,” says the owner of the nihari venture. “We are famous for our nihari’s fresh meat and mouth-watering broth.”
Unlike the other nihari places in Karachi, the ambiance of the New Ghousia Nihari restaurant is calm and quiet. “For us, hygiene comes first; our clean meat cooked in moderate temperature and our garam masala (spices) sprinkled on top! This completes our tasty dish.” The price of nihari at New Ghousia Nihari is Rs.130 for a single plat and Rs. 260 for double.”
Cafe Bismillah Nihari Defence
Cafe Bismillah Nihari is one of Karachi’s famous food stops. Although located in defence it serves the entire city. You can order a whole variety of dishes but one of the best is most certainly their nihari.
“Khaalis (pure), that’s what our nihari is!” the unexceptionally well-mannered staff said. “We serve our special nihari at Rs. 150 per plate.”
Nihari is one of the favorite dishes of us Pakistanis, be it Sindhi, Balochi, or Punjabi, eating a perfect plate filled with nihari makes our day. Originally, nihari was served with a portion of tender beef but is now also available with chicken and mutton.
Dilli Nihari
The interesting fact about nihari is that even restaurants in posh areas of the metropolis have started to serve it due to its popular demand. Be it ‘nalli nihari’, ‘maghaz nihari’, or ‘special nihari’, Dilli Nihari located in Karachi’s defence area has it all.
