NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made it clear that while it has no issue with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) staging the Asia Cup 2020 edition, it demanded the matches to be played on a neutral venue.
An official of the BCCI said the hosting rights are not a problem and it’s just a case of choosing a neutral venue as the Indian team wouldn’t be going to Pakistan for the Asia cup matches where the other Asian teams will be in action.

“The problem isn’t about the PCB hosting the tournament, it’s about the location and as things currently stand now, it’s quite obvious that we would need a different venue, there’s no chance an Indian team can even visit Pakistan to take part in a multi-national event such as the Asia Cup,” he said.
BCCI official further said that, if the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is all right with an Asia Cup minus India, then it’s a different game of ball. But if India is to take part in the Asia Cup, then Pakistan can not be an accurate place.
