LAHORE: A banking court has summoned the Sharif family in the bank defaulters case on 27th February.
Banking court judge Munir Ahmad Joyia will conduct the hearing. In this regard, legal notices have been issued to the relatives of the Sharif family. The court had summoned the cousins of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Mian Javed Shafi, Tariq Shafi, Shahid Shafi, and Zahid Shafi.
A case against these members has been filed as they have been declared the bank defaulters of their proprietary companies.
The members of the Sharif family have been accused of the repayment of loans taken by Kashmir Sugar Mills and Ittefaq Sugar Mills.
The move came after the petition that was filed against the accused in which it was stated that the Ittefaq Sugar Mills and Kashmir Mills received 700 million loans.
Several notices were issued to repay the loan. However, Ittefaq Sugar Mills and Kashmir Sugar Mills did not repay the loans, the petition added.
