Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that in the next fiscal year, Balochistan’s share in the development program of one trillion rupees will be 250 billion rupees, and efforts should be made to ensure that these development funds are spent transparently.
Addressing the Balochistan Grand Jirga in Quetta, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, “I am grateful to all of you for giving me the opportunity to attend and I also thank you all for your presence.”
He said that on May 6 and 7, when India attacked Pakistan, due to the excellent performance and bravery of the Pakistan Armed Forces, the enemy was given such a defeat that it will remember for a lifetime. In this regard, I am grateful to the brothers and sisters of Balochistan, as well as those of other provinces, who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Shehbaz Sharif said that as the Prime Minister, I was an eyewitness to all the events during this time. I want to tell you that in this extremely dangerous but brief war, under the brave and highly organized leadership of Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Armed Forces not only won the war but also made you proud and avenged 1971.
He stated that when Pakistan became a nuclear power, the world saw how Pakistan responded to India’s five nuclear tests with six of its own, shaking them to their core — and this honor was granted by Allah to Nawaz Sharif.
He said that after the creation of Pakistan, your elders gathered in Quetta and accepted the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and announced Balochistan’s inclusion in Pakistan. Not once but many times, I have joined my elder brother’s voice in saying that Balochistan is a beautiful province of Pakistan with brave people. But if there are grievances, they should be resolved by sitting together as brothers.
