Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 18-member national squad for the Test series against South Africa, including former captain Babar Azam and former wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan again in the team.
According to details, Shan Masood will lead the national cricket team in which 3 new players have been included. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Faisal Akram and Rohail Nazir have been made part of the national squad.
Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Aamir Jamal, Hasan Ali, Khurram Shehzad, Nauman Ali, Sajid Khan, Asif Afridi, Kamran Ghulam, Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel will also be part of the national Test squad, according to the announcement of the Cricket Board.
The first Test match between South Africa and Pakistan will be played from 12 to 16 October at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. The second Test between the two countries will be played from 20 to 24 October in Rawalpindi. For the Test series, the national team camp will continue in Lahore from 30 September to 8 October.
It is worth mentioning here that the national cricket team showed excellent performance in Asia Cup 2025, however lost all its matches against India, including the final match of the tournament.
