Pakistan’s former captain, Babar Azam, continues to dominate the ODI rankings, holding the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings.
According to a media report, Babar’s consistency was evident in Pakistan’s recent series against Australia, where he scored 80 runs with just one dismissal. His outstanding form has helped maintain his position at the top of the rankings.
In addition to Babar’s success, Shaheen Afridi has reclaimed the No.1 position in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowler Rankings, a position he previously held during last year’s Cricket World Cup.
Afridi’s remarkable performance in Pakistan’s victory over Australia, where he took eight wickets in three games with an impressive average of 12.62, played a key role in his return to the top. This achievement highlights Pakistan as the only team with the No.1-ranked player in both ODI batting and bowling.
Other notable performances include Haris Rauf, who surged to a career-best 13th spot in the bowling rankings after claiming 10 wickets in the series against Australia. Naseem Shah also reached a new career-high, advancing 14 spots to 55th. Pakistan’s new ODI captain, Mohammad Rizwan, moved up to 23rd on the batting charts.
On the ODI bowling front, West Indies’ Gudakesh Motie and Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz saw gains, with Mehidy rising nine spots to 23rd.
In the T20I rankings, England’s Phil Salt and Jos Buttler moved up to second and sixth, respectively, following strong performances against the West Indies. South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks and Tristan Stubbs also made notable gains, with Stubbs jumping 12 spots to 26th.
Bowling rankings in T20Is saw Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga advancing to second place, just behind England’s Adil Rashid, while West Indies’ Akeal Hosein and India’s Ravi Bishnoi moved up to third and seventh, respectively.
