KARACHI: The higher authorities of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have illegally allotted government houses to non-deserving employees or private people, it has been revealed.
The authorities have illegally allotted Bungalow No C-9, KWSB staff colony No 6 to Tariq Khattak, Coordinator of Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah. According to a notification dated 14 December, 2020, the accommodation was earlier allotted to Abdul Rashid Jakhrani of Grade 17.
The higher authorities, in a notification on May 28, 2021, stated that accommodation No C-9 was allotted to Shoiab Fasih at the request of Abdul Rashid Jakhrani. It has been now revealed that the accommodation was not allotted to Tariq Khattak, Coordinator of Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain.
Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that some government houses are also being sold. Quarter No A-4 of Water Board’s LSR Colony was allotted to KWSB official Ashraf Siddiqui, who allegedly sold it to Talha Qadri’s brother Safyan Qadri for millions of rupees.
According to relevant sources, Sufyan Qadri had demolished the said 550 yard government quarter without any permission. It is learned that Sufyan Qadri had also bought Bungalow No C-9 by paying millions of rupees to Tariq Khattak.
In this regard, the Executive Engineer of KD-Civil One of KWSB has written a letter on May 31 warning Safyan Qadri that he cannot demolish the allotted house in the government colony without permission. However, no action has been taken yet.
Sources told MM News that Sufyan Qadri has allegedly sold the 550 yard plot to another man, identified as Ayub Khan. K-D-Civil 1 Imran Abdullah has asserted that no government-allotted accommodation can be demolished or built without permission. Action will be taken against those responsible.
