Captain Steven Smith and Alex Carey both scored half-centuries, guiding Australia to a respectable total of 264 runs against India in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Choosing to bat first, Australia’s batting lineup managed to score 264 runs before being dismissed in 49.3 overs. Smith and Carey played pivotal roles with their steady innings.
The two-time champions had a shaky start, losing Cooper Connolly to Mohammed Shami in the third over with only four runs on the scoreboard.
