KARACHI: Asifa Bhutto Zardari, sister of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed to the people to vaccinate their children against polio.
An Anti-polio campaign has commenced in 128 districts of Pakistan from today in which more than 30 million children will be vaccinated against polio. While appealing to the parents to vaccinate their children, Asifa Bhutto Zardari said that the anti-polio campaign has started in Larkana, Sukkur, and Shaheed Benazirabad today. Parents must vaccinate their children against polio.
Children under the age of five will be vaccinated against polio. About 210,000 volunteers are participating in the campaign. The anti-polio drive will be conducted in 33 districts of Punjab, 33 districts of Balochistan, 41 districts of Sindh, 8 districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, 10 districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and one district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials say activists will campaign according to Coronavirus rules. In the 7-day polio campaign, volunteers will go door to door to participate in the anti-polio campaign. The campaign in Balochistan has set a target of vaccinating about 2.5 million children against polio. More than 10,000 teams will take part in the anti-polio campaign.
