The excellent performance of Pakistani weightlifters continues in the ongoing Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship in Doha. Pakistan has won another gold medal and a bronze medal in the event.
On the second day of the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship in Doha, Pakistan’s Rasheed Khan won a gold medal in the 89 kg weight category. He participated in the 50-year-old athletes’ group.
Rasheed Khan successfully lifted a total of 170 kg — 80 kg in the snatch and 90 kg in the clean and jerk to secure victory.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Abdul Malik won a bronze medal. 51-year-old Abdul Malik lifted a total of 193 kg — 93 kg in the snatch and 100 kg in the clean and jerk. With two gold and one bronze medal, Pakistan’s medal count in the event has reached three.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship, Pakistan had won a gold medal. In the event held in Doha, Maqsood Amjad Rathore won a gold medal in the 96 kg category of the 65-year-old age group.
Maqsood Amjad Rathore lifted a total of 125 kg to win the gold medal for Pakistan. He lifted 55 kg in the snatch and 70 kg in the clean and jerk.
